This is a factory OEM Acura RSX Type-S K-series oil pump kit assembly that is a direct replacement pump for the 02-04 RSX-S (K20A2), 05-06 RSX-S (K20Z1), and JDM K20A DC5/EP3 engines.
Whether you’re building a K20/24 or just rebuilding your stock K-series motor, the Type-S oil pump is the best and most reliable oil pump for the money. This oil pump is proven to provide oil pressure to 9000rpm and offers no parasitic drag unlike the factory oil pumps with integrated balance shafts found on all stock K24* engines, 06-11* Civic Si’s (K20Z3), and 02-05* Civic Si’s.
Note: *Some modifications and extra parts are required to use a Type-S oil pump on these engines.
4P PORTED K-SERIES OIL PUMP K20/K24
The stock K-Series oil pump is a great piece for up to 8,000 rpm. Past that, there can be cavitation issues and oil pressure drops as temperatures rise. The 4P ported pump increases flow by 25% and will allow continuous use above 9,000 rpm. The pump has been tested to 12,000 rpm with great success. The 4P Pump is designed to be used on all K24 and K20 engines (including the K20Z3). This part is cheap insurance to protect your multi-thousand dollar investment.
This pump has some advantages over the S2K pumps that are commonly used. The pickup is further forward, and lower in the pan, and it frees up an additional 1-2hp. This is the chosen pump for all of our racing engines for many of these reasons.
